Marc Lamont Hill Breaks Down the False Argument Between Black and Blue Lives Matter

He is done fighting back and forth over adjectives.

VH1 is on the ground in Cleveland, Ohio at the Republican National Convention. It's been an interesting few days, and VH1 Live! host Marc Lamont Hill has been there for it all. Even though the media is focusing on embarrassing snafus like Melania Trump's #BeckyWithTheBorrowedSpeech moment, Hill is taking time to focus on the real issues, like Black Lives Matter. Hill caught up with his fellow VH1 correspondent Rocsi Diaz about the ongoing debate around Black vs. Blue vs. All Lives Matter. His thoughts in a nutshell? Stop fighting over adjectives!

"The debate shouldn't be about, to me, blue vs. Black vs. all," Hill said. "I think we have to enter a space in our world where we can say Black lives matter. There's nothing wrong with saying that Black lives matter--because they do matter."

Damn straight. But don't get it twisted. Hill says this doesn't mean you're anti-police. "That doesn't mean that we don't care about law enforcement," he said. "That doesn't mean that we don't mourn when those officers in Baton Rouge and Dallas die. We mourn that."
