VH1 Greenlights New Series Hip Hop Squares, Executive Produced by Ice Cube For Fall 2016

"Unlike typical game shows, viewers should never know what’s going to happen next."

Pick a star, any Hip Hop star! VH1 has greenlit Hip Hop Squares, a modern twist on the classic game show Hollywood Squares, where two contestants play tic-tac-toe with their favorite celebrities for big prizes. The new series, executive produced by music icon Ice Cube and his production company Cube Vision, is set to premiere on the network later this fall.

According to the official press release, "celebrity contestants will match wits and test their pop culture knowledge with the superstar squares, featuring the biggest names in hip hop, comedy and entertainment."

In a statement to VH1, Ice Cube said, "Hip Hop Squares is going to be fun and spontaneous; unlike typical game shows, viewers should never know what’s going to happen next. When VH1 asked us to join the producing team, we jumped aboard as we have had success with VH1, and we love their team, excitement and commitment to the show.”
