VH1 Baelympic Athlete Ashton Eaton Will Melt Away All Your Sorrows With His Beautiful Eyes
Let American decathlete Ashton Eaton be the new man in your life (that you stalk on Instagram all day).
Ashton currently holds the world record for the Olympic decathlon. In case you're Sports Illiterate and don't know what the hell a decathlon is, just know it consists of 10 track and field events and lasts for two days. In other words: This dude has major stamina.
This Portland, Oregon-bred champion is widely recognized as the world's greatest athlete. VH1 is recognizing him as a Baelympic stunner. Find out what else makes Ashton the bae of all baes below.
He's on the cover of Vogue's August issue.
Ashton posed alongside Gigi Hadid for Vogue's August issue and is inexplicably levitating in one of the pictures. That is what true talent looks like.
He's married to an Olympic athlete.
Ashton and his wife, Brianne Theisen-Eaton, are both decathletes, with Brianna competing for Team Canada. This level of competitive tension in a relationship is hotter than that sex scene from Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but as true athletes know, good sportsmanship is key.
"When we're competing at the same meet, even though she's Canadian and I'm American, we're very much rooting," Aston told People. "We call it 'Team North America.' But for example, in the Winter Olympics when Canada and the United States play each other, it's a whole different story." Goals as all hell.
He used to want to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Ashton wanted to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle when he was four because, according to his site, he "thought it was so cool how they did kicks and flips while helping people." Oh my God, this man is a Saint.
Ashton's love for TMNT encouraged him to start doing martial arts and eventually, he got his black belt. Now he's a bae AF Olympic athlete and is one of America's best competing in Rio this year.
