Twitter Is Having Mixed Feelings About Bow Wow Announcing His Retirement

Some fans came to Shad's defense against the haters.

Bow Wow has officially retired from rap on Sunday.

The once childhood rap superstar embarked on what might be his last tour in the beginning of August. The tour is taking place in Australia, stopping in cities such as Canberra, Newcastle, and Melbourne. After performing at a club called Alumbra, Moss shared photos on social media with a surprise message to his fans.

It's not shocking news that he retired due to his struggling presence in the rap game in the past few years. Bow Wow exploded onto the scene in the early 2000's releasing several platinum and gold albums alongside his mentor Jermaine Dupri. He's starred in a handful of movies including the cult classic Like Mike. As he grew older his rap career fell flat, but he still had a few noticeable moments including singing with Young Money and Face Off with Omarion.

When he first announced his retirement many saw an opportunity to throw shade.

But the hardcore fans that grew up with Bow Wow's music and career weren't having it. They quickly came to his defense on Twitter.

There is some light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for Beware of Dog, Bow. It's a classic no matter what anyone else thinks.
