USA Olympic Star Landon Donovan Shares Olympic Secrets + More!

Find out what the soccer icon is doing these days.

USA Olympic superstar Landon Donovan may not be participating in the 2016 Rio Olympics but he found another way to kick it. (Corny, I know).

As we all know, Donovan was on top of the soccer world at a very young age. Having made such an accomplishment, this 34-year old decided to join a campaign that would allow other millennials to also accomplish great things. Donovan teamed up with Captain Morgan in support of #UNDER35POTUS campaign. With enough signatures, Article II Section I of the U.S. Constitution would be amended to allow anyone under the age of 35 to become president of the United States. Why join the campaign? When asked, Donovan replied to also allow young adults to reach record breaking heights.

We had a great time kicking it (sorry, last one) with Donovan, but we couldn’t let him go that easy. We asked him to spill any or all Olympic secrets- you know, the good stuff. He didn’t tell us what exactly goes on in the Olympic Village, but he did share something most folks don’t know.

“Not every athlete attends the Opening Ceremony become some athletes compete before and just can’t have the opportunity.”

Not the juiciest secret but still, good to know.

Now that he’s hung up his cleats, he’s able to spend time figuring out what’s next. While Captain Morgan may be his go to for the summer Olympics, we caught up with mixologist, Ariel Delande to share some more delicious drink recipes to keep you cool throughout the games and stay patriotic to your team. You’re welcome!
