Jhene Aiko's Ex-Husband Responded to Allegations That He Abused Her

The Jhene Aiko / Dot Da Genius / Big Sean love triangle came to a head this weekend. TMZ reported last week that Jhene and Dot had filed for divorce, with Jhene citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason. Jhene was met with fan backlash about the news over the weekend and she responded, implying that Dot wasn't the best of husbands and dispelling rumors that she was unfaithful.

It's unclear what sparked allegations that Dot abused Jhene. It's likely a rumor started by fans, judging from the second screenshot above, and Jhene doesn't seem to have directly addressed these rumors. But Dot Da Genius did. He released a statement in light of the allegations on Instagram last night.

"I've never been violent or abusive towards any woman in my life," Dot wrote. "Such behavior is abhorrent to me and far from how I conduct myself." He added that the "entire truth" will soon be illuminated—how or when, we don't know.

Jhene released a new song amidst her relationship drama yesterday. It's called "New Balance" and it sounds like a love song (potentially for Big Sean?). We hope she and Dot are able to work things out in whatever way is best for them.
