Kanye West had an eventful Wednesday. The rapper debuted his Yeezy Season 4 collection on Roosevelt Island yesterday and later made an appearance at his G.O.O.D. Music pop-up show at New York City’s Highline Ballroom. It was at the pop-up that Yeezus made an especially important announcement pertaining to his label: Tyga would be joining it.
Kanye made the announcement after performances by Migos (who will now be managed by G.O.O.D. Music), Pusha T, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, Teyana Taylor and Desiigner, and it came as a surprise. Tyga was previously signed to Cash Money Records, though he had reportedly been having issues with the embattled label. Perhaps this new deal will allow him to put out music more easily—and with Kris Jenner watching, that’s likely the case.

As far as how the deal came to be, we can’t be sure. But considering the fact that Tyga is dating Kylie Jenner, it is interesting that Kanye signed the boyfriend of his sister-in-law to his label. In keeping with Kardashian fashion, it’s all in the family.
