Rose McGowan Says She Was Raped By Hollywood Executive

“It is time for some honesty in this world.”

Actress Rose McGowan has had enough with Hollywood shaming her. In a series of provocative tweets, McGowan declared she was raped by a powerful Hollywood executive. Using the trending #WhyWomenDontReport hashtag, McGowan posted on Thursday evening that she’d attempted to have her alleged rapist brought to justice, but Hollywood wouldn’t act on it.

She wrote, “a (female) criminal attorney said because I’d done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head.” McGowan continued, “it’s been an open secret in Hollywood/Media & they shamed me while adulating my rapist,” before all but naming her attacker with subtweets. She finished by stating: “It is time for some goddamned honesty in this world.”

This comes around the same time Donald Trump is being side-eyed for his sexual abusive comments about women. It’s time for a change, and Rose McGowan is ready for it.
