Teyana Taylor Walked into the White House and Delivered a Strong Post-Election Message
Today is a busy day at the White House. President-Elect Donald Trump is visiting for the first time since the election, and the reigning NBA champs Cleveland Cavaleries are visiting to meet POTUS as congratulatory ritual for winning the NBA Finals. Somehow, even with the two major events happening simultaneously, the biggest winner at the White House today is Teyana Taylor.
The G.O.O.D. Music star accompanied her NBA Champion beau Iman Shumpert to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Being invited to the presidents crib is a once and a lifetime feat, and Teyana made the most of it by creating a powerful statement with just her look.
Taylor dressed as Black Panther and civil rights activist Angela Davis in an afro, oversized hoop earrings, a turtleneck and velvet suit. Then, taking her statement one step further, she posed in front of Hillary Clinton's portrait at the White House.
She posted the photo above on Instagram with the caption "Walked up in da White House like...✊?#WhoGoneStopUs." And posted a closer-up black and white picture showing off her Angela Davis-inspired afro and hoop earrings captioned, "I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change... I'm changing the things I cannot accept -Angela Davis"
That's one way to make a powerful post-election statement. We wonder if she ran into the Trump in the hallways.
