Taylor Swift's appreciation for hip hop and R&B music has been no secret. She's brought of Fetty Wap and Nelly to perform at her concerts and has even gotten on a track with rapper Kendrick Lamar. That being said, the singer will reportedly pull the ultimate genre swap with her forthcoming studio album.

According to The Sun, Tay Tay has planned to stray from her pop roots and make room for hip hop and R&B infusions on her sixth album. A source close to the songstress allegedly revealed, "Taylor is always looking at ways to grow as an artist and really wants to try something different and unexpected for the next album."

Reports of T-Swift's possible genre switch helps clear up rumors about the nature of her relationship with Drake. "Drake has been her friend for a while and it seemed a no-brainer that she would spend time in the studio with him. As well as writing with Taylor, he’s producing a few tracks and even lent his vocals to one song," the source continued.

While the reports of Taylor Swift's musical transition seem hopeful, the songstress has yet to confirm whether or not these reports are true. Now that we've got some back story, can we finally put those Drake and Taylor Swift dating rumors to rest already?
