Han Solo and Princess Leia weren’t just getting it on in a galaxy far, far way, but the two were hitting it off while on set.
Carrie Fisher, who plays Leia in the Star Wars franchise confirmed her romantic fling with Harrison Ford to People. “It was so intense,” the 60-year-old actress revealed. “It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend.”
She reveals even more details about the affair in her new memoir, The Princess Diarist. Their flame first lit following a birthday party for director George Lucas, which the two spent the night together. Fisher was an insecure 19 year old at the time compared to Ford’s age of 31.
“I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow,” she writes. “How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?”
We don’t blame you, Carrie.
“I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him,” she says. “He was kind.”
(Ahem) Fellas, take notes.
In her book, Fisher also reveals that she “relentlessly” tried to have Harrison make love to her and wanted him to propose. Sadly for her, Ford was married to Mary Marquardt at the time.
She does make note, however, that her affair with the Hollywood hunk had nothing to do with his marriage to Marquardt falling apart. She claims that it ended “for reasons having nothing whatsoever to do with me.”
