ICYMI: Mashonda Tifrere Appears in Alicia Keys' "Blended Family" Visuals That Addresses Their Early Drama

"I hate that you had to read it in the paper but everything's alright between me and your mama."

The video is a love letter to Keys' stepchildren, one of whom is from Swizz's marriage to Mashonda. In the song, Keys sings, "I know it started with a little drama. I hate that you had to read it in the paper but everything's alright between me and your mama." The chorus shares the same sentiment, "It may not be easy, this blended family, but baby that's what you do, what you do, what you do for love."

Back in season one of Love & Hip Hop, Mashonda was transparent about her pain from the divorce with Swizz and the way he and Alicia moved forward so publicly. She told her friend Emily Bustamante, "I mean you see these magazines. I can't go to the supermarket without [seeing them]." Of Keys, Mashonda then said, "She has a song called 'Karma', you know what goes around comes around, what goes up must come down. So, you listen to these records and you feel like, 'Girl Power,' and then you get this."

Mashonda is definitely on her grown woman ish and doing what's right for her son. I guess, that is what you do for love. Kudos to her!
