Major Congrats Are In Order To Remy Ma and Fat Joe For Snagging Two Grammy Nominations!
Remy Ma and Fat Joe weren't playing when they said they're going all the way up. The dynamic duo has been nominated for not one but two Grammy's for Best Rap Performance and Rap Song of the year. With rappers such as Fabolous, Meek Mill, even the gawd himself Hov hopping on the track, the Grammy nods for "All The Way Up" come as no surprise.
Remy took to Instagram to express her gratitude and to even big up the haters who she's proving wrong. She captioned:
I've been thru a lot. Nevertheless, I've also been blessed- a lot. This news this morning was just another reminder of how u can never listen to "they" THEY said so many negative things not even worthy of being mentioned but THEY were wrong?im the only female rapper nominated this year ( was the only one in '05 too; don't worry tho I'm reppin for ALL my ladies) I am so humbled and appreciative. I feel like I won something just with the nomination RT. Congratulations to my brother @fatjoe
Love you? to the #RemyMafia ; my fans are amazing, there's no me without you. And to my husband @papoosepapoose who never doubted for a second, even when I was unsure, you remained steadfast- you are THE BEST EVER?#RemyMa
The two are up against some pretty fierce competitors. In the Best Rap Song category, "All the Way Up" goes up against "Hotline Bling" by Drake, "Famous" and "Ultralight Beam" by Kanye West, and "No Problem" by Chance the Rapper. For The Best Rap Performance category, "All the Way Up" is neck-and-neck with Desiigner's "Panda", Drake's "Pop Style", Chance the Rapper's "No Problem", and ScHoolboy Q's "That Part". You can see the complete list of nominees here.
This isn't the first time Remy was nominated. In 2005, Remy was the only female rapper nominated for a Grammy for "Lean Back." She's just one of several VH1 stars to snag a Grammy nod. TIP Harris, The Game, Stevie J, and even Soulja Boy (to name a few) have all been recognized by The Academy which, it goes without saying, is a pretty big deal.
The 59th Annual Grammy Awards airs February 12, 2017 on CBS.
Big ups to Remy Ma and Fat Joe. Let's take this one home!
