Mariah Carey knows how to retaliate. After being dissed by Demi Lovato on social media, Carey serves up a huge clap back.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, December 18, Carey played a game of “Plead the Fifth.” After dodging a few breakup questions about ex-fiancé James Packer, and her new reported romance with backup dancer Bryan Tanaka, she was asked about Lovato’s shade comments last summer.
“Demi Lovato, I didn’t know this, she kind of shaded you on social media,” the host said. “She made assumptions about Ariana Grande, and she said, ’Mariah’s a legend and she’s so talented but she disses people. It’s nasty the way she treats Jennifer [Lopez].’ What would you say to Demi?”
The Queen of Christmas quickly clapped back, “I don’t know her either and so I wouldn’t say anything to her. She should come up, introduce herself to me, say, ’Here’s my opinion, what do you think about it?’ That’s how you handle s–t, OK?”
The diva also threw a little shade at Ariana Grande when asked by Cohen if she knew her.
“No,” she responds. “I don’t know … Honestly, I’m not familiar. I listen to hip-hop more than I listen to pop music.”
Ouch! I have feeling this beef triangle is far from over.
