Shia LaBeouf Arrested During Anti-Trump Livestream
Shia LaBeouf was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment following an alleged altercation with a fellow protestor at his anti-Trump protest in New York City early Thursday morning. According to TMZ, LaBeouf and a 25-year-old man were involved in a verbal altercation. During the incident, Shia grabbed the mans scarf, “causing a scratch to the man’s face,” and then pushed him, which made the man fall to the ground. The man involved did not ask for medical attention and stayed on the scene afterwards.
The #HeWillNotDivideUs Twitter account also posted a short clip that appears to show the very brief encounter between LaBeouf and possibly the same man. In it, the man says, "Hitler did nothing wrong," before LaBeouf pushes him and walks away.
Police officers were flagged down, and arrested LaBeouf about 12:30 a.m. The actor’s arrest was captured on the 24-hour livestream that he set up as part of his "HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US" protest.
He was charged and released early Thursday morning and was welcomed back to his protest with open arms.
