Lady Gaga Strikes Back at Super Bowl Body Shamers With an Empowering Message

Now that's how you kill 'em with class.

Despite her ability to leap from tall structures and perform intense choreography all while singing live, a few misguided spectators seemed to think Lady Gaga appeared "out of shape" during her Super Bowl halftime performance. Lady Gaga, in response, wants you to know she couldn't care less.

The "Born This Way" singer surprised fans with a wardrobe change during her loud and proud Super Bowl Ll halftime show - swapping her sparkly multicolored leotard for a pair of blinged out hot pants and midriff-baring shoulder pads. Some Twitter trolls, however, seemed to think her abs could have been better toned. "Thats an ugly little belly on #LadyGaGa," one Twitter use wrote Sunday night. "So, am I the only one willing to identify the elephant in the room? Namely Lady Gaga's beer belly?," another Super Bowl fan tweeted.

After getting wind of the comments, Gaga posted yet another photo of herself (and the alleged 'belly') in action with an inspiring and unapologetic caption. "I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too,” she writes. “No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed,” she writes. “Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga.”

Even better, women on social media stood up to defend Gaga in droves.

Welp, you know what they say...if you ain't got no haters, you ain't poppin'. Way to kill 'em with class, Gaga.
