Katherine Jackson Granted Restraining Order Against Nephew After Reporting Elder Abuse

The Jackson family matriarch feared for her safety.

Katherine Jackson has reportedly been suffering elder abuse at the hands of her nephew Trent Lamar Jackson and after years of silence, the Jackson family matriarch is putting a stop to his financial and emotional abuse.

Trent had been earning a six figure salary as Mrs. Jackson's driver and allowed to stay in her luxury guest home rent free, but that apparently wasn't enough. Court documents filed on behalf of the Jackson family claim that Trent used her bank accounts and credit cards without permission. He allegedly kept her estranged from her own children just to maintain control of her finances.

Sadly, it gets worse. The 86-year-old mother and grandmother, known for her unwavering kindness, claims she feared for her physical safety as well. She remembers having to hide in her closet just to be able to speak privately to her kids. “She has had enough, her health is fragile and she is tired of being frightened,” read the paperwork filed by her lawyer. “Trent was supposed to be her driver, but over time (he) has infiltrated Mrs. Jackson’s business and personal affairs, even referring to himself as her ‘house manager.’

Katherine and her daughter, Rebbie Jackson, are currently in London visiting Janet Jackson, who just welcomed a baby. Katherine's lawyers have filed a restraining order against Trent pending their court hearing on March 1st. The Jackson siblings have reportedly agreed to testify against Trent in court.
