Diddy Arrested For Assaulting a UCLA Football Coach

What we know so far.

Diddy was arrested Monday afternoon after getting into an intense fight with UCLA Strength and Conditioning Football Coach Sal Alosi, TMZ reports.

According to the website, the assault was over Diddy's son Justin Combs, who is a defensive back on UCLA's football team. After Diddy watched his son get berated by the football coach — specifically, TMZ writes he "was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him" — Diddy confronted the coach in his office. And that's when things got ugly.

TMZ posted a series of updates to its website, including that Diddy hit Sal with a kettleball after the coach refused to chat with him and that Diddy was charged with "three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats, and one count of battery." Diddy's camp claims self-defense.

"I'm thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation,” UCLA Football Coach Jim Mora said in a statement. "This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time."

In another statement from campus authorities (per Access Hollywood), we've learned that no one was seriously injured in the incident.

Diddy was booked by 7:37 p.m. last night at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center, according to the Los Angeles Times. He's since been released after posting $50,000 bail (although The Times reports his bail was listed as $160,000 online).
