Bill Paxton, 'Titanic' and 'Big Love' Actor, Dies at 61

Paxton reportedly passed due to complications from surgery.

Emmy award winning actor Bill Paxton has died.

The Titanic and Big Love star reportedly passed away due to complications from surgery on Saturday, February 25th.

Paxton's family confirmed his death explaining, "It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery." The statement continued by highlighting Paxton's many contributions and his "illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker." Paxton's family concluded, "Bill's passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable."

Bill Paxton gained wide notoriety for his roles in Twister, Titanic and even scored an Emmy for his role in Hatfields and McCoys. Paxton was currently working on CBS' Training Day at the time of his death.

Bill Paxton leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Louise Newbury and two children.
