Here Are Some Essential Lessons 'Love Jones' Taught Stars of 'The Breaks'

"The film taught me that love is complicated."

Love Jones is celebrating its 20th anniversary today, and since the cast of The Breaks is well-versed in all things 90s', it was only right we tapped the stars of the show Afton Williamson, Mack Wilds, Antonie Harris, and Sinqua Walls for their take on the timeless romance film.

It's crazy to think a film as relatable and relevant to today's dating struggle is turning 20, but alas, Father Time is always on the move. According to Sinqua Wells, there's lots of lessons to be learned from the true-to-life love story of main characters, Darius and Nina.

"The film taught me that love is complicated, and I think that's a lesson you learn when you go through a couple relationships...I think what's missing from society today is that people have this idea, this fantasy of love. You're gonna fall in love and it's all gonna be great. But at the end of the day, the person you met three years ago is not gonna be the same person."

Aside from the relationship gems, let's not forget how smokin' hot Nia Long and Larenz Tate were (and still are). Seriously, the eye candy in this film rivals any of the past two decades.
