It’s the first day of spring and love is in the air! Former Love & Hip Hop star Somaya Reece revealed that she and her rapper boo Lady Luck are engaged.
Last night on the season finale of the couple’s Bravo series First Family of Hip Hop, Lady Luck (a.k.a. Shanell Jones) popped the question to Reece. Reece, of course said, yes.
The Boss took to Instagram afterwards to share a video of her poppin’ manicure, flexing that rock, along to the tunes of John Legend.
Meanwhile, Luck shared her love for her fiancée on her page, writing, “She said YES? Like there was on other choice (Take That Take That @diddy voice).”
Back in 2016, Somaya told VH1 about her relationship with Lady Luck,
When I arrived to New York to film Love & Hip Hop I realized we knew a mutual friend. I asked her to introduce us. From the moment our friend introduced us we clicked and got along well. She was the first female MC that embraced me in New York when no one else would. We clicked on a friendship level and our art. Which eventually lead to a music and business collaboration between us. We did a record together called “Boss Lady” that featured Rasheeda from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.
Could the newly engaged couple find their way back onto Love & Hip Hop? During her time on the docu-soap Somaya went head-to-head with Chrissy Lampkin and Erica Mena but now that Kimbella’s back, maybe she could slide her way back in with the New York ladies. Reece’s boo Lady Luck would be a natural fit for the series now, too, being one of Remy Ma’s rivals during their battle rap days.
