Star Jones and the Cast of 'Daytime Divas' Define What a "Diva" Really Is

"The ladies of Daytime Divas have their own interpretation."

The title "diva" can often be polarizing. If a woman is considered too bossy or assertive, she'll be called a mean girl or worse...a b--ch. But if she's too passive, people will get it twisted and think they can walk all over her. So as we jump into the first season of VH1's brand new series Daytime Divas, shouldn't we all be clear on exactly what a "diva" is? We think yes.

Daytime Divas executive producer Star Jones believes the vitality, integrity and aspiration are the main ingredients of a diva. But of course, every character in the show has their own interpretation, which are peppered with the experiences of their characters. Whether you're the seasoned head honcho trying to maintain control of your throne like Maxine Robinson (Vanessa Williams) or the scrappy underdog fighting for respect like Mo Evans (Tichina Arnold)...there is a different diva according to anyone you ask.
