Hip Hop just lost a great one. On Tuesday (June 20), Queens rapper Prodigy passed away after a long battle with sickle cell anemia. According to TMZ, the Mobb Deep member was rushed to a hospital after a Las Vegas show for his "Art of Rap" tour. The cause of death is still under unknown.

Fellow New York rapper Nas, was one of the first to break the tragic news as many of his peers followed suit. From rappers, to producers, to hip hop influencers, all took to social media to pay tribute to one the best rappers of all time.

Prodigy formed the infamous Mobb Deep in 1992 with rapper Havoc, and they became well-respected icons in the game for creating timeless hits including "Shook Ones, Part II," "Survival of the Fittest," and "Quiet Storm."
