Amy Schumer Opens Up About Her Body Image: "I'm Not Going to Look Like a Malnourished Bird"

"A lot of people have asked me if I intended to kind of flip the gender roles like I'm playing the guy, and that's not been my experience at all."

When it comes to Amy Schumer she isn't afraid to hold her tongue.

Speaking at the press conference for her new film Trainwreck, Schumer kept it real when discussing everything from the way she looks, to gender role in relationships!

When asked her thoughts on how her body image in Hollywood, Schumer stated:

"It's very therapeutic for me to be like, 'Yes, I'm not going to look like a malnourished bird,' and I like speaking to that, as well as speaking to my work and what I'm doing."

Then, Schumer corrects naysayers who believe her new film is about a woman with an act-like-a-man attitude:

"A lot of people have asked me if I intended to kind of flip the gender roles like I'm playing the guy, and that's not been my experience at all. This is how I am and how a lot of girls are where the guy ends up being a little more sensitive and more invested. So the scene where I get high and then John [Cena's] character looks through my phone, and then instead of comforting him I ask if I can leave – that did happen in my real life."

When keeping it real goes right. Preach on, Amy!
