Uh Oh! Looks Like Iggy Azalea is Getting Dragged into Some Drama with Halsey

Iggy Azalea isn't too "Fancy" to get called out by Halsey.

Just when Iggy Azalea was trying to end one feud, she managed to get dragged into another.

Here’s the tea:

In an interview with The Guardian, Halsey was asked why she would feature Quavo, who has been accused of homophobia, on her record. Halsey, who is bisexual, responded with a defense of Quavo:

“I think he’s misunderstood. Just because I choose to be a socially conscious artist, and I’m pretty good at it, that doesn’t mean every artist is going to be equipped to be politically correct. I don’t think he’s inherently homophobic, I think he’s in a tough place of trying to explain what he means. I agree his apology was bullsh-t but I can’t police everybody.”

Okay, fair enough. But when the interviewer implied that Halsey could police who she puts on her album, Halsey decided to bring none other than...Iggy Azalea into it?

The singer said, “Yes, I can, and there’s a lot of people I wouldn’t put on my record. Iggy Azalea: absolutely not. She had a complete disregard for Black culture. F-cking moron. I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me.”

Now, to be fair, Azalea has been criticized before for her appropriation of Black culture, but Halsey’s choice to call her out specifically is one that has us a little confused.

And we're not the only ones. While on the Australian radio show Smallzy’s Surgery the “Fancy” singer addressed the drama, saying, "Yeah, it's a bit weird to bring someone up in an interview that you weren't asked about. It's kind of like if we were talking right now and I just randomly started talking about Janet Jackson or something," Azalea said.

And then, the spirit of Mariah Carey took over Iggy Azalea’s body as she replied in true pop-diva fashion.

"To me, because I'm a famous person and I know a lot of the time people have opinions and they're not always accurate, I really try very hard not to give my personal opinions about people that I don't know. I don't know her, I've never met her.”

That’s right, she pulled out ~*The Mariah*~

But otherwise Azalea’s response was pretty tame. She hopes that Halsey grows up and becomes less judgemental: "She's young and I hope she learns maybe to be a bit less judgmental when she's kind of in the same shoes. I'm sure she's getting judged all the time as well by people who don't really know her. Maybe it'd be good for her to try to be a little more empathetic to other people that are in the same situation.”

It looks like Iggy Azalea is trying to steer clear of the drama. Good for you, girl!

While this feud is certainly interesting, it is nothing compared to Mo and Maxine's feud on Daytime Divas. Watch a clip of the drama below and catch the show on Mondays 10/9c.
