Black Ink Crew: Chicago is back for another round, and the 9 Mag squad is giving us drama right out the gate.
In this highlight, 9 Mag throws a ’70s-themed casino party to celebrate the shop’s 4th year in business. What’s supposed to be a joyous time for the shop turns into a grand s—t show when former homies turned enemies Ryan and Van start scrappin’ in front of all their guests. Things were tense the moment Van walked in. The two didn’t say two words to each other, but Van had a whole lot to say about Ryan acting like he’s the star of the show. Things come to a head when Ryan gives a toast (that’s always where sh*t goes left) thanking every 9 Mag staffer except Van for their hard work. Words (and poker chips) are thrown, and before you know it Ryan and Van are putting them paws on each other.
So why are things so heated between them all of a sudden? Well, now that 9 Mag’s success is soaring, Van thinks that Ryan caught amnesia, forgetting who helped build 9 Mag from the ground up. Ryan, on the other hand, thinks its Van who’s got the amnesia, since just a few days prior, he went on a rampage in the shop yelling “F–k 9 Mag.” No matter how you slice it, things between these two ain’t looking good.
