Rick Ross Recalls That Weird Moment When He Knew His Bond with Meek Mill Was Deeper Than Rap

These two were clearly meant to work together.

In 2011 Rick Ross signed Philly's hottest up-and-coming rapper to Maybach Music Group and helped transform him into one of hip hop's biggest young stars. Meek Mill has gone on to release three studio albums under Ross' MMG label, including his recent project Wins & Losses. The duo have also collaborated on not one, not two, but EIGHTEEN songs on their respective MMG projects. With Rozay in search of new talent on his VH1 show SIGNED we caught up with him to discuss the potential he saw in Meek back then.

"One thing that made me sign Meek Mill is his hunger. I just heard it in his voice. This kid is hungry. He wanted to change the game."

While he recognized the drive, it was a strange coincidence that accorded when Ross flew Meek to Florida, for a meeting, that truly helped him realize inking a deal with the kid from Philly was meant to be.

Watch fate at work in the clip ablove. These two were clearly meant to work together.

Tune into new episodes of SIGNED Wednesdays at 9/8C on VH1 to see if Ross can find his next rap prodigy.
