Safaree Samuels can barely keep it together after learning about the murder of his very close uncle. In a video shared by TMZ, an emotional Safaree can hardly find the words through his tears to explain his relationship with his late uncle, Vincent Roper.
You know, like, I never had someone taken from me you know? So, this is definitely the hardest thing I ever had to deal with in my life and he’s my mother’s brother you know? It’s just, like we were close, you know? He used to come by always clean my cars and we used to ride motorcycles. He used to always cook. So, you know um, we were close.
In reminiscing good times with his uncle, Safaree goes on to say that his ex Nicki Minaj, who was also close to Vincent while the couple was still together, has not reached out to offer her condolences. He continues:
When me and Nicki were together he um he used to be at the house. He used to be cooking, cleaning, stuff like that-for us. He was my only uncle that I had out here. I haven’t heard anything from um Nicki since it happened. I just, I don’t know.
Last week (8/25) the Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star told fans of his heartbreak in finding out his uncle was stabbed to death in his home in Palmdale, Los Angeles, according to NBC4 Los Angeles. He was 64.
You were always so proud of me and proud I was your nephew… I'm Numb right now.. I'm only doing this because I want to bring awareness to some1 killing my uncle vern Vincent Roper and getting them caught. Palmdale California isn't that big of a place so I know someone knows what happened and you will be caught. My last uncle in America man I can't believe this…this shit hurts. The last pic he sent me. Can't remember the last time I felt pain like this. Can't stop crying.. everything I do is gonna be for you. #palmdale #california
While Nicki may not have reached out to Safaree, she did tweet an apparent sad mood and some are speculating that’s around the time the “Rake It Up” rapper learned of this devastating news.
