Who is Virgil Hunter, Keyshia Cole's Birth Father?

She's not the only famous one in the family.

In this week's Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, Keyshia Cole was very candid about her reunion with her birth father after a mutual friend brought them together. While listening to a Keyshia Cole song on the radio, her dad, Virgil Hunter wondered if he was her father because he had a relationship with her mom Frankie Lons back in the day. After a DNA test that proved Virgil was her father, the two have gotten to know each other as they try to catch up on 35 years of lost time.

Keyshia posted this picture to her Instagram, captioning it: "Mom and Dad during their time…. Mommy was such a cutie.!? pop and that mustache tho ? LOL !!!! this is a lot to process man, WOW! They met up last night to speak for the first time in 34 years, intense for me, FOR SURE!!!! Mom usually doesn’t have nice things to say about men, but I can tell my heart pumps his blood? God knows!! I Needed this!!! FrFr #TrulyBlessed and #TrulyThankful ?????"

Prior to meeting her father, Virgil, she believed that she was biracial because her mom thought her dad was an Italian man named Sal - she even expressed discomfort performing at Black Girls Rock in 2012 as a result. But now she knows that her her dad is Virgil Hunter, a boxing coach, that's a pretty big deal in his field.

Her dad has trained quite a few boxers, including Andre Ward, a 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist with eight other titles. Virgil started training Andre when he was nine years old, he has maintained an undefeated record throughout his career. Virgil clearly knows what he's doing.

Now as their relationship continues to grow, they're getting to know each other and spending time together with Keyshia's son, DJ, who bears a strong resemblance to his Grandpa Virgil.
