Meek Mill Gets Major Support From JAY-Z, T.I. and More After Prison Sentence
Meek Mill just received an outpouring of love and support from fellow celebrities like JAY-Z, Kevin Hart and T.I. after being handed a prison sentence for parole violation.
JAY-Z, who has continued to be a mouthpiece against racial bias in the justice system, offered a statement on Meek's sentencing. “The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer — is unjust and heavy handed,” read a statement posted on the rapper's Facebook. “We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career.”
Kevin Hart posted a photo of himself and Meek at a basketball game, along with a heartfelt message. "God sometimes puts the toughest battles on his strongest soldiers. I’m here for you man!!!! My brother for life…Always here for you man!!! This storm will pass…Stay strong & keep your head up.”

The #FreeMeek movement certainly didn't stop there. Fellow stars like YG, Teyana Taylor, Isaiah Thomas and Angie Martinez also spoke out on his sentencing and offer support.
According to Philly.com, Meek, 30, was sentenced to two to four years in prison. He was charged with misdemeanor assault in March for fighting at St. Louis International Airport. The charges were dropped in exchange for ordered community service. However, the rapper was arrested months later in New York City for reckless driving. He plead guilty to the charge.
Former Love & Hip Hop cast member Scrapp stands in front of the judge and receives his long-awaited sentence.
