Once Upon a Time, Dame Dash Allegedly Smacked Harvey Weinstein and the Story is One You'll Never Forget

Pull up a chair and some popcorn. We gotta talk.

The mental visual of Dame Dash slapping Harvey Weinstein gives me great joy. So if what Cam’ron says about the alleged incident is true, then allow me this moment.

We are doubly blessed today not only because Dipset has reunited and released their a new song called "Once Upon a Time," but also because the Harlem group is spilling some scorching hot tea in this song about the disgraced Hollywood producer at a very timely moment. Cam'ron lets the world in on a secret incident that we are just hearing about for the first time in which Dame had to put hands on Weinstein on the set of the hood classic Paid In Full (starring Wood Harris, Mekhi Phifer, and Cam'ron). He raps:

"No disrespecting the ladies' word from my team / That's the reason Dame smacked Harvey Weinstein / On the set of Paid in Full, y'all gave him hell about it / Some foul shit happened once Capo tell 'em 'bout it."

Oh, but it only gets better from here. In an interview with Hip Hop Motivation that was filmed right around the time that the Weinstein scandal broke, Dame gives the blow by blow of what "aggressive interaction" between the two that made him go off like he did.

"I know I made Paid in Full over there, and I know that him and I had a lot of aggressive interaction. And I know even culturally, like, my people would say things, like, I would see interviews with Wood Harris and with Just Blaze and all that, and they'd be like, 'Oh he yelled at Harvey Weinstein. He yelled at the Weinsteins.' But the bottom line is, when I look at somebody treat other people wrong, I can't just look the other way. And any opportunity I get, I know I'm strong...but I'm always gonna make them suffer for the people that aren't strong enough. The people I usually bomb on are the ones you find out are treating other people poorly."

Dame said he purposely made it his business to send a message that he would never tolerate disrespect on his watch. Also, because Dame never planned to collaborate with Weinstein after Paid In Full, the threat of being blackballed did not phase him.

"I would watch the way he would talk to his staff, and I would say don't you ever talk to me that way...ever. That was shocking to people....I wasn't gonna work with him again regardless. If you're not right, we're not gonna get along. If you're working with me and you're doing something that's gonna violate my principles, you're probably gonna get a reaction from me that you're not used to and you won't enjoy."

In terms of the Weinstein scandal hitting the media, Dame says what was most shocking is, "how many people looked the other way."

That's right Dame! Do it for the culture.
