Social media was in shambles after an ordinary Friday (Dec. 22) night in LA turned into something straight out of a sci-fi flick. The normal nighttime sky was overcome with bright lights and sounds many people quickly associated with UFOs.
While many questioned the bizarre sighting, there’s an explanation for it all, and no, it doesn’t have anything to do with aliens. Businessman and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk launched the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base resulting in the lights and sounds that had many LA area residents spooked.
Musk quickly hopped on Twitter playing on the fears of many social media users by posting live video footage from the launch with the caption, “Nuclear alien UFO from North Korea.”

Musk’s tweets must have gone unnoticed because tons of celebs hopped on social media losing their minds over the seemingly mysterious sighting.
Everyone from Zendaya to Chris Brown and Demi Lovato took to social media stunned by what they saw.

Just a little heads up, Musk claims there’ll be more launches like this in the very near future.
If you liked tonight’s launch, you will really like Falcon Heavy next month: 3 rocket cores & 3X thrust. 2 cores return to base doing synchronized aerobatics. 3rd lands on droneship.
