Carrie Underwood Prepares Fans for a Change to Her Face Due to an Injury
Country singer Carrie Underwood has been keeping a relatively low profile in the latter half of 2017. So if you notice anything different about her in the new year, there's a very good reason why.
In a blog post obtained by People.com, Underwood is spilling more deets about a nasty fall she took back in November outside of her home. Apparently, she says the accident was actually worse than what was originally reported. In addition to a broken wrist, doctors also had to administer 40-50 stitches to her face. Though she's recovering at a great pace, she warns her fans that she's "not quite looking the same."
"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," Underwood wrote in her post. "It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."
She continued: "In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [my husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in."
"I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way," she concludes in her post. "And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different."
The accident Underwood speaks of happened just two days after she hosted the 51st annual CMA Awards in Nashville. The fall was so bad, she had no choice but to cancel her upcoming performance at the Country Rising benefit show. Since the accident, Carrie has been sporadically posting several #TBT photos, as well as this partially covered selfie.
Best of luck to Carrie on her road to recovery!
