Keri Hilson Reveals She "Hit Rock Bottom" While Being Read By a Psychic in This Emotional Clip

“I’m crawling back to walking In my purpose”

It's been seven years since Keri Hilson released her second studio album No Boys Allowed. Since then, the singer has been MIA from the stage (but did score a couple of minor movie roles). Rumor has it that Hilson had been blackballed by the industry after fans assumed she was shading Beyoncé on the remix to her 2009 hit “Turnin’ Me On” (a rumor Hilson has always denied.)

Though her plan was to take a break from music for only a year, personal circumstances prolonged her comeback. However, according to this new interview from The Steve Harvey Show, 2018 just might be her year. Celebrity psychic medium Reginald Lewis just shed light on what prevented Keri from keeping her musical gifts from her fans for so long.

During the segment, Lewis gets in contact with Hilson’s deceased paternal grandmother and, to her amazement, he is quickly able to pinpoint her cause of death. Lewis was also able to pick up that the "Pretty Girl Rock" singer had been cutting people off who took advantage of her, and again was spot on. “That’s one of the things that I’m walking away from,” said Hilson, who recently broke up with ex-boyfriend Ricardo Lockette.

Things took an emotional turn when Lewis predicted that her life will flourish romantically and professionally in the new year. She tearfully admits, “It is kind of a comeback because I hit rock bottom a few times… I’m crawling back to walking in my purpose and using my gifts… I had to give up music for a while.” The psychic assures her that hitting rock bottom is something she had to do in order to build herself back up.

Back in March 2016, Keri told The Boombox that her third studio album L.I.A.R (Love Is a Religion) was in the works and would have an entirely new sound. Over one year later, fans began to question the status of the long-delayed project. In response to a fan tweet anticipating her new material, Hilson wrote, “I know. And I appreciate everyone who feels like this. I promise I have a GREAT album (or 2). There’s some business on the way…”

Hopefully Mr. Lewis' prediction is right, because Keri's beautiful music and genius writing is exactly what the game has been missing.
