On tonight's Love & Hip Hop, Jonathan Fernandez opened up about his past experiences undergoing gay conversion therapy in the Dominican Republic.

Jonathan revealed that while his relationships with his mother and sister are incredibly important to him, he's never had the strength to sit down and confront his painful past with them. In the highlight, Jonathan's family remembers how badly he was bullied in school and his mother admits that it was too painful for her which is why sent him to D.R. for conversion therapy, at the age of ten. Jonathan details the experience for his mother, the crippling hormone shots, the lie detector tests, the machines that would shock him when he answered questions "incorrectly." It couldn't help but impact Jonathan's feelings towards his mom but this is his first step in being transparent with his family and repairing their relationship. The reality star cautions any parent who thinks that conversion therapy is an answer, "But anybody who is ever considering sending their child away to be converted into something that they're not, should reconsider."
