Hamilton Creator Lin Manuel-Miranda and Wife Vanessa Sing the Praises of Their Newborn Son, Francisco

Act II of parenthood is in full effect!

Congratulations are in order for Lin-Manuel Miranda and his wife, Vanessa Nadal. The Hamilton creator hopped on Twitter today to announce the birth of their son Francisco Miranda. This is the couple’s second child (they also share a 3-year old son named Sebastian).

As any clever playwright would, Miranda gave us a glimpse of his adorable baby boy in script form. “Int. Hospital Room. Night,” he tweeted along with a photo of his smiling baby. “[The screams reach a delirious crescendo. FRANCISCO MIRANDA enters. He is 7 pounds and 13 ounces.] Intermission.”

Lin and Vanessa tied the knot in 2010 after years of him crushing on her. In an interview with New York Times, Miranda revealed that he and Vanessa went to the same high school, but he never had the guts to approach her. “She was gorgeous and I’m famously bad at talking to women I find attractive. I have a total lack of game.” Eventually, he worked up the nerve to invite her to one of his show, and the two naturally fell in love.

On their wedding day, Lin did the sweetest thing imaginable by getting all of Vanessa’s friends and family to rehearse a surprise musical number for her. “What we lack in polish, we hopefully make up for in joy and love,” he captioned the video. “In any event, everyone in this video has one thing in common: We’d do anything to show Vanessa how much we love her.”
