As the competition is whittled down to the final six, the kikis in the werkroom have become more personal. So of course, the queens get to talking about relationships.
Asia O’Hara says that dating as a drag queen is more than a little complicated…it’s down right stressful. “I normally am very anti-meeting boys around drag, because they’re falling in love with a character that you’re playing and not the real you.”
With all of the lessons she’s learned, both in the competition and back home in Texas, Asia says the one thing that has helped bounce back from breakups is the fellow queens in her circle who have had her back. Similarly, she can’t help but cherish the sisterhood that’s develop with her Drag Race competitors. It makes the reality that someone is going home all the more stressful.
