Tami Roman Will Play Octavia Spencer's Stepmom in a New TV Series

Tami Roman isn't joking about being booked and busy, baby. The Basketball Wives star has just joined a new Apple TV series, Are You Sleeping, produced by Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon starring Oscar winner Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures, The Shape of Water) and Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls, Masters of Sex).

According to Deadline, Tami will portray Octavia Spencer's "saucy stepmother." Twitter users seem confused about what a STEP-mother is.

Are You Sleeping is based on a true-crime novel by Kathleen Barber and according to Deadline, "provides a unique glimpse into America’s obsession with true-crime podcasts and challenges its viewers to consider the consequences when the pursuit of justice is placed on a public stage." Joining Tami, Octavia, and Lizzy in the starry cast are Mekhi Phifer, Annabella Sciorra, Aaron Paul, Nic Bishop, Molly Hagan, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood and Ron Cephas Jones.
