Birdman and Young Thug Named as Conspirators in Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting

Neither Birdman nor Young Thug has been charged.

Birdman and Young Thug have been named in an indictment for Lil Wayne's tour bus shooting, which took place back in April. Jimmy Winfrey, Young Thug's tour manager who also goes by Peewee Roscoe, has been charged with the actual tour bus shooting, and now, Cobb County prosecutors are naming Young Thug and Birdman, both members of the Bloods gang, as working with Jimmy, also a Blood, according to Pitchfork. Thug and Baby haven't been arrested and aren't charged at this time.

Complex pieced together events from the Lil Wayne tour bus shooting, as told by the court documents for the case. Here are the most important points laid out:

  • Lil Wayne's tour bus shooting took place on April 26, 2015 after Wayne performed at Atlanta's Compound.
  • Before the shooting, Peewee contacted Thug via cell phone.
  • Peewee had an assault rifle on him that night, and was driving a white 2015 Chevrolet Camaro. He drove away when the police tried to withhold him.
  • Peewee called Birdman after the shooting and later hid his car. He also tried to remove pictures of the Camaro from his Instagram account.
  • The indictment is also saying that Young Thug raps about the Lil Wayne tour bus shooting in "Halftime." Here's the "Halftime" video, which came out in early June, time-marked at the point in question, when Thug supposedly raps about the shooting and someone points a gun at the camera.

    More details to come.
