Ku Klux Klan Protest in South Carolina Births Powerful Photo

Members from a North Carolina chapter of the Ku Klux Klan organized a rally yesterday to protest the recent decision to remove the Confederate flag from the South Carolina statehouse in Columbia. The rally was organized by the Loyal White Knights from Pelham, North Carolina, which is reportedly one of the largest KKK chapters in the country.

During the rally, an elderly white supremacist (who was also wearing a a swastika t-shirt) was suffering from a heat stroke, and an African American officer named Leroy Smith aided him to care. Someone captured his daring act of kindness, shared it online, and now it's going viral.

I have lots of respect for Smith for putting aside this mans idiotic racial views, and being the bigger man. Hopefully this will help change the perspective of that old man's mind and get with the program.
