The Most Impressive Prosthetic Man-Parts in Movies

When actors put the "pro" in prostheses.

If you caught the red band trailer for the new comedy Vacation, then something definitely caught your eye. And, no, we don’t mean Ed Helms and company unknowingly frolicking in toxic waste. (Though, that was pretty hard to shake from your mind too.) Rather, it was his co-star Chris Hemsworth’s very impressive, albeit fake, package. Hemsworth sports a huge prosthetic penis in the film (10 inches, to be exact), which co-writer and director Jonathan M. Goldstein joked to ET was because, “He is an ugly man. He is hard to look at, so you find yourself averting your eyes a lot.

All eyes will definitely be on the Aussie hottie and his movie member when Vacation finally hits theaters this week, but Hemsworth is hardly the first actor to get some extra support on-screen. As we look forward to the BIG-screen debut of Hemsworth’s prosthetic, we look back at some of the other best fake man-parts to ever appear on film. Don’t worry, these are all totally SFW!

  • Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights

    New Line Cinema

Pretty much the holy grail of man-part prosthetics captured on screen. It’s impossible to forget the iconic moment when the porn star Dirk Diggler (Wahlberg) finally reveals his infamous, massive member, which is as gloriously over-the-top as the rest of the classic movie. Fun fact: Wahlberg kept the not-so-little prop after filming.

  • John Cena in Trainwreck

    Universal Pictures

As Steven, the meathead eff-buddy of Amy (Amy Schumer), the surprisingly hilarious pro wrestler and actor John Cena steals just about every scene he’s in. One of those scene-stealing moments comes when, post-coitus, Steven stands up to reveal an erection that’s covered only by a hand towel. Cena said during a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! that it was actually a “stunt penis” used for the sight gag.

  • Joe Lo Truglio in Wanderlust

    Universal Pictures

C’mon, like a movie about a free love community isn’t going to have nudity, fake or otherwise! When married couple George and Linda (Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston) accidentally stumble upon the Elysium hippie commune, they are greeted by a nudist named David (played by JLT.) All of David, in fact. The actor told The Huffington Post, “It’s always fun to run naked with a gigantic prosthetic penis after a car that’s backing up very fast!”

  • Jason Schwartzman in The Overnight

    The Orchard

During the press tour for this year’s hilarious, raunchy sex comedy The Overnight, pretty much all talk turned to Schwartzman’s prosthetic penis. Playing Kurt, one half of a swinging couple that gets really close to their new neighbors, Schwartzman got to have a lot of fun sporting a nine-and-a-half inch member, although he shared one embarrassing anecdote about showing the prop to the wrong people at the wrong time.

  • Will Poulter in We’re The Millers

    Warner Bros. Pictures

Definitely no fake penis envy to be had here. As dorky teen Kenny, poor Poulter had to endure three hours of putting on a prosthetic that looked like it had been bitten by a tarantula. Not since There’s Something About Mary’s zipper scene had a damaged (and thankfully fake) penis made audiences scream with (mostly) laughter. Speaking of which….

  • Ben Stiller in There’s Something About Mary

    20th Century Fox

The image of high school dweeb Ted’s frank and beans caught in his zipper on prom night is one of the greatest comedic sight gags/most horrific torture porn images ever. And we’re still wondering how he got the beans above the frank.

  • Joe Manganiello in Magic Mike

    Warner Bros. Pictures

Alright, this one is up for debate. As the aptly named Big Dick Richie in the Magic Mike saga, we see Manganiello’s character drop trou in the original during an on-stage striptease and, in one particularly hilarious scene, using a penis pump. During interviews Manganiello hinted that maybe there was no prosthetic in place and that he truly bared all. Guess we’ll just have to keep watching closer for confirmation.
