Ice Cube’s Son Was Feelin’ Himself in an ’80s Jheri Curl Wig for Straight Outta Compton, and We Don’t Blame Him

Like father, like son.

Like a lot of young men, Straight Outta Compton star O’Shea Jackson, Jr. aspires to be just like his dad. So much so, that he is playing his pops Ice Cube in the N.W.A. biopic, out tomorrow. Last night, O’Shea told Conan about transforming into his dad – a transformation that wouldn’t have been possible without a little help from a Jheri curl wig.

“The Jheri curl is almost like Superman’s cape,” O’Shea said. “Once I put it on, the transformation really starts to happen.” And then he gave us this look like, boom.

From the looks of it, O’Shea must have found this wig straight outta the back of his dad’s closet, somewhere behind overly starched collared shirts and other questionable but totally gangsta pieces from the ’80s. In other words, where can we get one?

Although we’ll have to wait until the movie’s premiere date on Aug. 14 to see how well O’Shea pulls the Jheri curl off, you can watch the hilarious clip from the show here.
