Grammys 2013: Ed Sheeran Notes That Tonight’s Crowd Is “On Edge”

Crowds can eat you alive.

Ed Sheeran was a big winner at the BRIT Awards last year, but tonight is the first time that our You Oughta Know alum has attended an awards show on American soil. Our own Big Morning Buzz Live host Carrie Keagan just caught up with our ginger friend on the red carpet on Grammy Night Live, currently livestreaming on

Ed’s introduction to the American-style red carpet didn’t go quite as he might have expected, as he told us that he was pushed out of the way just as he stepped on the carpet tonight for none other than Wiz Khalifa. He also noted that “everyone’s very on edge,” which he explained to Carrie was a much different vibe than awards shows across the pond. (He does look super dapper in his suit, though, so he’s got that going for him!)

We’ve been hanging with Ed Sheeran all weekend long, including during his rehearsal with Elton John yesterday (see our video below!). This collaborative performance is one of our most anticipated of the evening, and we’ll have reaction about it immediately as it happens on @vh1music and right here on VH1 Tuner.
