Grammys 2013: Gotye And Kimbra Are Still BFFs Almost 2 Years After Release Of “Somebody I Used To Know”

Friends forever.

Antipodean artists Gotye and Kimbra duetted on the mammoth hit “Somebody I Used To Know,” a song that became one of the biggest international smashes in recent memory. The pair are nominated at the 2013 Grammy Awards in the Record Of The Year category, and they stopped by our area on the Grammy Night Live carpet to share their thoughts with VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown host Jim Shearer.

We still get goosebumps when we think back to the time last year when Gotye and Kimbra performed the track for an audience of 20 people or so in our elevator lobby, and it’s great to see that the relationship between these two has yet to sour despite being attached at the hip since the song was first released in Australia way back in July of 2011. We’ve got our fingers crossed that the You Oughta Know alum will take home at least one of the two Grammy Awards that they’re co-nominated for, and we’d like to offer up a HUGE congratulations to Wally De Backer (aka Gotye) for winning the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album earlier this evening!

UPDATE: MORE congrats are due to the two for winning the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance!
