Clive Davis Isn't Backing Down From Kelly Clarkson
Clive Davis's memoir is stirring up drama. And to think rappers get the bad rep for beefs. Kelly Clarkson cleared up what she believes to be some inaccuracies in Mr. Davis's book on her blog. Clive may be old, but his memory hasn't failed him on exactly what happened.
The mere fact that public figures are releasing "Twitter statements" makes us chuckle. Clive stands by what he wrote and tweeted, "...I had every fact checked with five independent individuals who were present on a daily basis throughout it all. The chapter as it is written was thoroughly verified by each and every one of them. I stand by the chapter as written in my book." What about Kelly's claim that he called her a "sh*tty writer?" He purposely didn't address the name calling. On Wendy Williams this morning he lauded her voice. "I fought at the beginning of her career for her to get songs like "Since U Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Breakaway" because initially there was a taint to an American Idol winner and writers did not want to give their songs to her," he said. As far as the accounts in his book he's relying on his memory and the fact checkers.
This beef will fizzle out over a Corona or two. Plus, how can she stay mad at a guy who "testifies" to her talent saying she'll be around for many years to come? Hug it out, guys.
