Stone Temple Pilots Fired Scott Weiland But Forgot To Tell Him

We use the term 'forgot' loosely. There's no way it conveniently slipped Stone Temple Pilots' minds to tell its founding member that he'd been canned. Only they didn't tell him and Scott Weiland claims he read the news in the press just like everybody else. Where's the love?

In a one-line statement the group announced Scott's firing, and my how fast Wikipedia is, already listing him as a former member. Since 1986 Scott's held the band down as the fronter and has had an integral role in the group's success. Once Scott got word of his "termination" he issued a statement claiming he'd only read about it in the press. "I learned of my supposed "termination" from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press," the statement read. "Not sure how I can be "terminated" from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that's something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday."

Now that is how you read someone! The endless shade--his reminder of everything he's done, mentioning he's lawyered up and the promotion of his solo tour at the end-- is what you call an epic response.
