Tegan & Sara Bring The House Down At The NewNowNext Awards With Their Performance Of "Closer"

Without a doubt, Tegan & Sara's "Closer" is, in addition to being the theme song of VH1's latest brand campaign, one of the most anthemic songs of the new year. The identical twin sisters have been icons of the LGBT community since the outset of their career, which is one of the many reasons why we were so excited about them being booked as a musical act on last night's NewNowNext Awards.

We've seen the Quin sisters perform "Closer" a handful of television shows this year, but we can confidently declare that the audience's reception to the song at the NNN Awards last night was the most vociferous. I mean, all audiences love this song, but when you spot none other than Miss Kylie Minogue shaking her perfect butt to the song, flawlessness has been achieved.
