The Scoop: 9 Things You Never Knew About Emeli Sandé

Former VH1 You Oughta Know artist Emeli Sandé stopped by the VH1 offices this morning for a beautiful performance on Big Morning Buzz Live with Carrie Keagan. Her debut album, Our Version of Events, broke records in the UK remaining a constant fixture in the top ten for an incredible 63 weeks, eclipsing the former record holder, a little band you might have heard of called The Beatles!

The British born songstress is here and ready to take on the US market. Her single "Next to Me" is currently at #46 on the Billboard Hot 100. If her success in the UK is any indication, she will be steadily moving up the charts.

Not only is Sandé an incredible musical talent, she's also brilliant. She left the University of Glasgow, where she studied medicine, to pursue her singing career. It doesn't look like she'll need that medical degree to fall back on, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have medical school on her long list of accomplishments. When she's not busy performing for a worldwide audience at the Olympics, opening for Coldplay or headlininng her own tour, she's busy planning a wedding to her long-term boyfriend turned fiance, Adam Gouraguine.

We cannot wait to see what is next for Emeli Sandé as it seems everything she touches turns to gold these days. We're extremely proud of everything our June 2012 You Oughta Know artist has accomplished. To celebrate, we gave her The Scoop treatment. From her dating deal breaker to her advice for young people trying to break into the music industry, read on for nine things you never knew about Emeli Sandé.
