Mixtape Festival’s 2013 Summer Playlist: New Kids On The Block’s Picks

We’re getting closer to the two-day 2013 Mixtape Festival, which kicks off July 26. And this week, Donnie Wahlberg and Jordan Knight from New Kids On The Block give us their list of awesome summer songs.

NKOTB will be taking the stage at Mixtape along with the Jonas Brothers, Serena Ryder, TLC, and many more. VIP packages are still available, allowing fans access to their favorite artists. You could even get a meet and greet with the guys from New Kids!

But before you chill with the guys, you should know what tracks they’re blasting this summer.

Both Donnie and Jordan love “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.

Donnie loves Kool & The Gang’s “Summer Madness,” calling it “the coolest song ever!” Plus, it was sampled in the first pick.

Jordan is feeling “Blurred Lines” by his boy Robin Thicke.

“Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch is a nice shout-out to Donny’s brother Mark.

Jordan thinks Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” is definitely the song of the summer.

Donnie remembers listening to Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” while cruising with the boys back in the day.

LFO’s “Summer Girls” makes Jordan root for the fellow Boston boy band.

Donnie simply thinks “The Boys Of Summer” by Don Henley is “just a great song.”

“Summer Nights” from the Grease soundtrack takes Jordan back to his childhood.

And naturally, the boys have to rep NKOTB! They chose their song, “Summertime.”
