J. Cole hits the VH1 stage at tonight's 2013 Do Something Awards, honoring celebrities Jennifer Hudson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kelly Osbourne, LL COOL J and Patrick Dempsey for their amazing social change leadership. We caught up with the Roc Nation prince during rehearsals to get the details on his recently announced tour, artists he has his eye on, and what it was like to be partying with Jigga, Justin Timberlake, and Nas the other night.

Earlier this month, Cole killed his performance at VH1's Philly 4th of July Jam, so we couldn't help but ask him back to rock out the DSA stage. In the clip above, the North Carolina rapper/producer describes hanging out at Jay and JT's Legends of the Summer Rose Bowl show on Sunday night as a moment "people would pay a million dollars to be at" - one that we were interested in after a behind-the-scenes after-party photo with Nas saluting him hit the 'net. But that's not the only Cole news to cross the wire this week: as of September 10th, he'll be hitting the road with Wale for the What Dreams May Come tour. In addition to going into detail with VH1 News - the tour is his brainchild of years! - he also took time out to discuss the blast he had at Philly 4th, his love of Amber Coffman's voice, and the Dreamville Foundation.

Don't miss the 2013 Do Something Awards, airing tonight at 8/7c on VH1.
